I'm Blinded by the Lights

Björk's videos rarely disappoint. When it's directed by Michel Gondry, director of one of my all-time fave flicks Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, you know it's special. Crystalline is her newest single from the upcoming Biophilia.

Not typical Too Poppy fare I know, but a man's gotta stretch and I've always had a soft spot for Björk.

As always, Björk is pushing the boundaries with the release of her new album Biophilia. In fact, it's being called the first app album. Yep, you can download the app (which is actually pretty cool and trippy itself) and then download individual tracks that are complete with multimedia accoutrements like games and video. The app is definitely worth checking out. Biophilia is out 9/27. Read more here.

Get To Be The Generous One

Björk has a new album, sort of...

Well, just before Bjork's performance at the Glastonbury Festival in 2007, and before beginning what would be a two-year Volta tour, she and her band went into Olympic Studios in London. There, the group recorded live to tape selections from Medulla, Homogenic, Post, Vespertine and her latest. These performances are what make up Voltaic.

Sounds like a björky thing to do. You can listen to it now thanks to the magic of NPR. Or you can own it legally by downloading from Amazon MP3. Many deluxe versions will be out next week.

You're the Bird on the Brim Hypnotized by the Whirl

Bjork is a bit of the anti-pop, but she's incredibly talented and always makes for a good late night headphone session. Here are the details for her new album Volta scheduled for a May release.
