You See It Could Have Been Me Instead of You
One bright day following the Oasis boom in the states and prior to the dawn of Yellow, a then and still underrated band pondered Why Does It Always Rain on Me and was named the next big Brit band to break the states. Travis didn't really break the states beyond that stellar album The Man Who, although The Invisible Band certainly was a worthy follow-up (although I've only listened to their most recent release 12 Memories just a few times - my bad). Word is there's a new album on the way and it's being produced by Nigel Godrich. Sounds great so far:
Coldplay and Keane lovers take note; they would not be where they are without Travis laying the groundwork. Can't wait to hear more. Thanks, stereogum.
